Over 20 years have passed since the Lynn Commons were rehabilitated in 1987. The park has great historic importance to the city of Lynn and the Commons need repairs. This master planning process for Lynn Commons was initiated in July 2010 to help the City of Lynn develop a long range plan for improvements to the park based on the feedback received at a series of public meetings held between October 2010 and January 2011.

The public meetings and the Master Plan are now complete.  OECD will be seeking grants to fund the various aspects of the Master Plan, as shown on the site analysis and existing program plan.  Cost estimates for all elements of the plan shown exceed 5 million dollars.  Those improvements include rehabilitation of the fountains, restoration of the bandstand including an accessible lift, new lighting, new benches, new trees and pruning existing trees.
