Charrette

Lynn's Downtown Charrette Plan was initiated as a collaborative effort to prepare a redevelopment strategy for the downtown area in July 2004.  The initial identification of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and constraints impacting development in the downtown area.

1. Upgrade property values in the downtown
2.
  • Improve gateway areas (Washington and Market Streets)
3.
  • Retain and expand existing office, college, and government activities
4.
  • Create market rate housing in the downtown to be used as a catalyst to reinvigorate retail
5.
  • Eliminate incompatible uses
6.
  • Establish cultural destinations to complement the downtown living and working environment
7.
  • Link the downtown to its waterfront
